These are the questions players ask most often, grouped into what the game is, how you access and play it, and how we handle content and neutrality. If yours isn't here, the how-to-play guide covers the mechanics in depth, and the About page explains the thinking behind the design. When in doubt, the fastest way to get an answer is to start a free career and see for yourself. Nothing is locked behind a payment or a download.
About the game
Is Rajneeti based on real Indian politicians or parties?
No. Rajneeti uses real Indian states and real electoral rules, but every party, politician, scandal, and event is fictional. Parties are built from archetypes rather than named real organisations, so nothing depicts a real person or group.
Can you really become Prime Minister in the game?
Yes. Becoming Prime Minister is the long-game goal. You climb eight tiers from student leader through MLA, minister, and chief minister to the top office. There is no hard ending: you keep governing, and you can still lose the post. See the full ladder on the Indian political simulator page.
What games is Rajneeti similar to?
Rajneeti shares its choice-and-consequence DNA with narrative political simulators like Suzerain and policy sims like Democracy 4, but is set in India and covers a whole career. See our guide to games like Suzerain for a fuller comparison.
Playing & access
Is Rajneeti free to play?
Yes. Rajneeti is completely free to play. There is no purchase, no paywall, and no in-game charge to progress. You can create a character and rise from student leader to Prime Minister at no cost, entirely in your web browser.
Do I need to download or install anything?
No. Rajneeti runs entirely in your web browser. There is nothing to download or install; just open the site and play. That keeps it light and lets you pick up on almost any device.
Is Rajneeti available online in the browser or on mobile?
Yes. Rajneeti is a browser game and is built mobile-first, so it works on phones, tablets, and desktops. Play it online in any modern browser with JavaScript enabled, no app store required.
How long does one session take?
About thirty minutes. Each session covers one to three in-game days of decisions. You can stop between beats and resume later; your career is saved, so short sessions add up over time. New players should read how to play.
Do I need an account to play?
You can start playing without creating an account. An optional sign-in lets your progress sync and persist across devices via cloud save, but it is not required to begin your first career.
Can I lose the game, and can I recover after a break?
You can lose an office: an election, a no-confidence vote, or a scandal. But that never ends your career; you drop to another role and can climb back. Short breaks are never punished, and the game stays recoverable even after a long absence.
Content & neutrality
Is the game partisan, and does it push a political side?
No. Rajneeti is deliberately non-partisan. It models how Indian politics works, including compromise and corruption, without endorsing any ideology. Good and bad politicians can both win; the game rewards coherent strategy, not a particular side. Read more on our About page.
Is Rajneeti safe for students, and good for learning civics?
Rajneeti is a single-player game with no chat or user-generated content, and it's non-partisan. Because it models real electoral rules (coalitions, no-confidence motions, anti-incumbency) it can be a genuinely useful, hands-on way to understand how Indian democracy works.
